The Japan America Student Association of the University of Missouri Saint Louis will give members a relaxed environment for UMSL students to practice Japanese and experience Japanese culture as well as provide an opportunity for Japanese exchange students to practice English and experience American culture. JASA will accomplish this purpose through educational, social, and service events.

Please navigate this site to learn more about JASA, view upcoming events, and view pictures from past events.

This event will be combined with our Japanese language table, so it will be a great way to enhance your knowledge of both Japanese language and culture!

Come join us on November 12th from 3:30-5PM in Clark 400!

After that, we will watch the Japanese horror film “Ju-On.” Feel free to dress up in a costume if you’d like you show your Halloween spirit! Votes are due this coming Monday, so please don’t forget to vote in the next few days [or even better--right now :-) ]

*From Eckelkamp Sensei*

Time to cast your vote for JASA officers for 09-10! Our candidate bios are posted on the Documents page on the JASA My Gateway site. Kayla Strauss, La’Ondrill Brown and Nathaniel Kistner are running for president/vice president. The rest of the candidates for office are running un-opposed so I will appoint Masa Hayashi as Treasurer, Megan McCarthy as Secretary, and Dale Wagner as Public Relations Officer. We will appoint the candidate for President with the greatest number of votes as President, the second highest as Vice President. So, please email your vote for two out of three President Candidates to brokawd@umsl.edu

Dawn Brokaw is an admin assistant in the Anthro and FLL dept and will collect the votes for us. Please visit the Documents page, read the bios and cast your votes before Monday 5/18 at 9am. Again, please email Dawn with two out of the three names for President that you would like to vote for. Thanks!

Thank you, and see you at future JASA events!
